Emergencies
Life Threatening Emergencies:
In a life-threatening emergency such as sudden severe chest pain, severe breathlessness, loss of power in a limb, loss of consciousness or severe bleeding dial 999.
Injuries:
The practice is equipped to treat minor injuries like small cuts and joint sprains. If the injury is more severe or may involve a broken bone then you should attend the local minor injuries unit at The Great Western Hospital A+E Dept.
Also in the event of poisoning or overdose attend the local A+E
Urgent Problems during Surgery Hours:
If you have an urgent problem during surgery hours call the surgery on 0844 477 8643. The receptionist will need to take some details about the problem and arrangements will be made for you to be seen by the doctor as soon as possible.
Urgent Problems outside Surgery Hours:
On weekdays between the hours of 6.30pm and 8.00am, and all day and night at weekends and on Bank Holidays, provision of primary care services is the responsibility of Swindon Primary Care Trust.
Patients requiring medical treatment during "out of hours" have a choice:
- If you wish to see an emergency doctor, telephone the surgery on 0844 477 8643. You will be invited to "Press 1" for automatic transfer to the Out of Hours service or “Press 2” to transfer to "NHS Direct".
- If you require health information or advice, you may phone NHS Direct, a 24 hour nurse-led service advice line on 0845 4647.

The Swindon Walk-In Centre is located at Carfax Street and is open:
Monday to Friday 7.00am to 6.00pm
Weekends/Bank Holidays 7.00am to 5.00pm
